Grills Well With Others

July will forever be my favorite month. There are firecrackers, beach trips, bar-b-ques and never ending sunshine. It is also the month I celebrate my anniversary and birthday, so that’s a bonus! I love the smell of sunscreen and wood on the fire. It brings me back to my childhood when my dad would harvest mesquite wood from our lake lot and use it to smoke a brisket almost every single weekend. He made his “secret famous BBQ sauce” that was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. My mom would make potato salad and I am probably the only human on the planet that likes it hot, when it’s fresh, so she would set some aside for me before she put it in the refrigerator to cool. I am not sure I will ever have another July day quite like those, but I do love the memories they gave me.
